Reading Cheerleading Champions
Reading Superstars attended the ever popular BCA Western Classic Competition on Saturday 25th February to compete against other teams in cheerleading and stunt. This competition, which has been running for over 10 years, is always a tough one with a sold out arena and only the top 1/3rd of competing teams usually receiving trophies. This is why we are particularly proud that every team Reading Superstars entered walked away with a trophy this weekend including
Two 1st Place Trophies for Reading Superstars Stunt Teams.
Our level 3 open all girl team was especially excited for this placement due to competing against senior teams (instead of the usual senior open) with a division of 13. Our 2nd place competitors Portsmouth Phoenix really made us work for our win as we thought, right up until the moment it was announced, that they had bested us. Thank you to Portsmouth Phoenix for keeping us on our toes and making us work.
Reading Superstars Stun, senior level 2 brought their game to the floor in a huge division of 16 teams. Despite recent set backs for this team including training two new flyers from scratch in a month and a half and an unfortunately number of absences they managed to beat 11 other teams. We are excited to see what this team can do with 100% attendance in the future.
Congratulations to the whole Reading Superstars program for the weekend. Everyone supported each other, as well as our local friends the Basingstoke Wolverines and had fun at a new competition. The team showed off their new season uniforms and received many compliments on them. This Reading cheerleading team is excited to work even harder over the next few months to put even more skill on the competition floor and earn the highest awards possible.
