FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

We tend to be asked similar questions by those finding out about our program for the first time.  To make things easier we decided to put the answers here for you.  If you are ready to go ahead and book your free trial or make a party or commercial booking enquiry - click the relevant red button and complete the form.

Are you accepting new members?

Yes.  We welcome new members to the Superstars family all year round.  We offer selected dates throughout the year for new athlete trials.  During these sessions you can see what we do and we can get a sense of which classes/teams would best suit you.

I’ve never done cheerleading before.  Can I join?

Absolutely.   We believe in training.   We think it would be absurd to tell an athlete that they can’t take part until they’ve already learnt what to do (or send them elsewhere to learn before letting them join).  Rather we welcome all who want to learn.  We’ll get you up to speed and once you’re ready, we’ll invite you to compete.

As a parent can I sit in on training to watch?

Unfortunately we don't currently have a viewing area or way for parents to sit in on training.  From past experience we have found that having anyone in the gym who isn't taking part in the session is very distracting to the athletes.  We are happy to recommend local restaurants and/or cafes to anyone who wants somewhere warm to wait for the duration of the session.

How long does it take to go from a training member to being invited onto a competitive team?

It varies.  The time it takes will be based on the individual and on the time at which you join.  We can invite experienced cheerleaders onto competitive teams immediately or ask them to wait.  Brand new athletes who show promise may be invited to compete.  At the same time – you might need longer to get confident in your skills and performance before you are ready to compete.

How much does it cost?

Every athlete must pay our annual membership fee (Sept-Aug) which includes your membership pack and two t-shirts.  Our training rates vary based on the amount of training you do (we think that’s only fair).  Find out more on our schedule and costs page.

How are payments organised?

Following your trial you will need to pay your season membership of £60 which includes 2 t-shirt, team book, team water bottle and a bonus gift.  The whole season is worked out into 10 monthly payments which are managed by our Direct Debit partner. Competition fees are in addition to this and have their own payment schedule but again are managed via DD.
