3 x Regional Champions

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE WEEKEND! 3 FIRST PLACE TROPHIES AND REGIONAL CHAMPIONS IN CHEER, DANCE AND STUNT!!!

***

Every single Superstar did themselves and their team proud over the last two days competing at Future Cheer Winter Wonderland southern regional competition at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. The team has always attended this competition (traditionally held on the first weekend of December each year) as our kick off to the competitive year. Its a chance to shake out any nervous or choreographical bugs in our performers or routines and ensure we are on the right direction for the rest of the year.

This was a particularly exciting competition for many due to the first one with brand new routines and in the case of our Seniors, gorgeous new uniforms. The team also had many members on the floor this weekend who had either never competed with Superstars before, or in some cases, never competed at cheerleading before! Having only started half way through September, we are especially proud of these new recruits.

Like any competition, it was not without it’s challenges; minor uniform malfunctions in dance, spectators transport being delayed, previous injuries, stomach aches, being very hot, the coach losing her voice, some people being unsupportive, forgetting bows, bows breaking, squishing onto not enough seats, forgetting to eat enough during the day etc...

But it also had some great highlights; banding together as one cheer family in support of ourselves and everyone else in our sport and at competition, writing snaps for each other, rocking out our routines on the floor, new tumbles being thrown by new people, massaging, wiggling, shaking and rippling in the holding area, being so good in warm up that we only needed half our time, showing anyone who doubts us how strong we really are, single file superstar snaking it around the building, nailing stunts we weren’t able to hit at our showcase two weeks ago, pushing through personal barriers, caring for each other if parents weren’t at comp, buying great photos, getting really far in the Christmas Game Competition, dancing with everyone on the floor, making new friends, catching up with old friends, loving every minute of it.

NOT TO MENTION – 3 FIRST PLACE TROPHIES AND REGIONAL CHAMPION TITLES IN:

JUNIOR JAZZ – 1ST PLACE – REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

SENIOR OPEN STUNT GROUP L3 – 1ST PLACE – REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

SENIOR OPEN COED L3 – 1ST PLACE – REGIONAL CHAMPIONS

These three titles epitomise our program. We are a true all-star and fully rounded team with opportunities for our members in Reading to develop across cheerleading, stunt and dance.

We were so proud of everyone who competed for the work they put in on the day and on the floor and we know that those who didn’t achieve top 3 placings at this competition absolutely will later on in the year with more time to perfect skills.

A huge thank you to everyone that supports and supported Reading Superstars in making this weekend possible. Without the support of our extended Superstar family we would not be able to achieve the way we do.

The original and champion Reading cheerleading team, Reading Superstars has our next event on Friday 9th Dec when we will be having our awards dinner to celebrate the hard work of our members and their families this term. It’s the start of an amazing year for the cheerleading family of Reading.
