Competitive Cheer 2015-16
This season we are re-thinking our competitive cheer offering with long-term program and athlete development in mind. We will have fewer competitive cheer spots available to ensure that only the most commited athletes on the program are involved in the most demanding discipline.

Changes verus 2014-15:
-
Athletes will only be place on ONE cheer team training weekly or fortnightly. Selected athletes may also be placed on one of our international elite teams. As we will now be demanding more of our competitive cheer athletes in terms of regular and complimentary training we believe it would be too much for any athlete to compete on multiple cheer teams (they are still welcome and encouraged to compete in dance and/or stunt).
-
Attendance and punctuality will be strictly monitored and anyone who does not follow the notification guidelines or exceeds the maximum will be removed from competition and instead invited to join recreational training.
-
Blackout dates will be applied at various times during the season. This means that ZERO absences are allowed during a certain period for ANY reason which includes holidays, illness*, injury, revision, exam next day, etc.
-
Competitive cheer athletes will still have team training on just one night per week but will be expected to attend another night per week (either within the program or externally at a gym of your chosing) to work on tumble and jumps. There will be no tumble training during competitive team training. We will however be running weekly tumble classes to ensure everyone continues to develop and grow.
-
All competitive cheer teams will have up to 8 additional training members who will shadow the routine. These athletes will step into the routine if anyone on the competition team has to be removed during the season. Some or all of these athletes may also compete in stunt group.
